Almost half of all the golf courses in the World are in the USA

The Masters at Augusta National GC
USA

Augusta (GA) is a consolidated city-county in the U.S. state of Georgia, best known for hosting The Masters golf tournament each spring.

During the second week of April, people from all over the World arrive to watch The First Major Championship of professional golf, The Masters, at Augusta National Golf Club - one of the most famous golf clubs in the world, founded by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts. Jones was who designed Augusta National along with course architect Alister MacKenzie.

 How to get there

The best option is flying to Atlanta International Airport and then driving a two hours trip to Golf’s Promised Land.

 Accommodation: something to be considered

Hotels in Augusta are not so great and prices during the Masters week are crazy. It is usually a much better deal to rent a house, but to make it a good option you need to be at least 4 people (as prices may start from USD 6000 for the week).
Prices decrease as you move away from the Golf Course. But we wouldn’t recommend being further than 30 minutes away.

Play Golf ? Of course!

Being at The Masters generates the biggest adrenalin a golfer can feel... You will definitely want to play some golf yourself!
In the surroundings there are 5 Private Courses where Redan can take you: Augusta CC, The River Course, Mount Vintage Plantation, and The Reserve Club & Westlake CC. A green fee on these courses can run USD 300 per person. Booking in advance is crucial.
We can also make you play at the exclusive Sage Valley Golf Club, but prices here are a lot higher.

Another noteworthy option is to stay at Resorts like Reynolds Plantation or Cuscowilla. They have great golf courses, but are located more than an hour away from Augusta National.

Another option is staying a couple of days in Augusta and then traveling to one of the great resorts nearby to spend some days playing golf and watching The Masters on TV. These golf courses are excellent and have hosted some Major Championships (PGA Championship, The Players, US Open, etc.), so golfers will not be disappointed!

Here some of our recommended options:

Pinehurst, NC (211mi)

TPC Sawgrass, FL (282mi)

Kiawah Island, SC (202mi)

Hilton Head Island, SC (136mi)

Wild Dunes, Charleston, SC (190mi)

Barefoot, Myrtle Beach, SC (225mi)

Can we get tickets?

The same “patrons” own tickets since 1978, when The Club restricted sales. You can get resale tickets but prices are way too high for one day. As the Tournament approaches, values increase every day.
Without a doubt, the best option is to purchase programs that include lodging and some golf, the overall price will definitely be more convenient in the end.

What days are the best ones to go to Augusta National?

Practice rounds are a must, not only due to lower costs, but because you can take pictures and film, walk the entire course, and even maybe catch a glimpse of players! If you chose only one practice day, make it Wednesday, so as to be able to watch the Par 3 Tournament.

Tournament rounds are not so pleasant to watch at the course because there are too many things happening in different places. It is always better to watch it on TV. But experiencing at least one Tournament round is mandatory, so as to feel to crowd roaring and watch the players in “Tournament Mode”. In this case we suggest the Friday round, when the entire field is still playing and you will be able to watch your favorite golfer.

The best choice is to buy a package that includes the tickets you need and to do it with enough anticipation (4-6 months) to get good prices and availability. Prices usually start to go up at New Year’s, and if Tiger Woods is in a good season, they can reach really high values.

Redan does not sell tickets only

We have an agreement with our suppliers not to sell just the tickets, but also include accommodation. Resale tickets are not a very wise option… Only 20% of the 40.000 spectators that get into Augusta National per day, do it with the resale tickets!
